I pointed out that around here most of those druggies are using drugs supplied to them directly or indirectly by local doctors who are paid by already existing government programs and that the working poor were the ones being shafted not only at the grocery store but also at the doctors office. In other words you were paying for their pills even before last night, but the lady who was waiting on you at the grocery store was doing without insurance because her job doesn't supply it and she makes far too little to buy it.

Till we start stopping the growth of families on asst., we will never curb the problem. I don't mind helping people that can't get by, but when their kids out-number the ones in working households- we will never be able to pay enough. Education reform would help, but if there are no jobs, then training or a degree would be better spent on food.
